The beginnings of the 'World of Tat' are now lost in history but the premise remains the same. Every country in the world produces 'objets d'art' for visiting tourists which can be procured from any market stall or dodgy bloke on a street corner. Pub customers aquire these artifacts and bring them to their spiritual home =Gav's World of Tat. The rules are very simple.
1.You have to have been on holiday (Bilston Market doesn't count)
2. Spend about £2 (or local currency equiv.)N.B. this is very difficult if holidaying in the U.K. but haggle, there's always a bargain to be had !
3. Place on shelf in bar and let others admire.
Currently there are about 150 pieces from places as diverse as Outer Mongolia, Cuba, India, Mexico and Belfast.
Get out there and get some. Not only add to the collection but keep the locals in a job.
